November 10, 2009

Dear Friends,

Thank You so much for your support!

I am truly honored by all the remarkable work that was done by volunteers across Shoreline on my behalf during the 2009 Election season. I owe a debt of gratitude to all who gave of their time, talents and made financial and in-kind donations. Your support and enthusiasm was amazing. Your encouragement meant more to me than words can convey - again, thank you.

The last 10 months have been challenging -- and rewarding. I've learned so much about the critical issues that Shoreline faces and met so many citizens.

From the beginning, the theme of the campaign was "Making Shoreline Better - Together!" I would like to personally encourage you to continue to work towards that goal. Shoreline has so many important issues on the horizon. Only by staying informed and being involved will Shoreline citizens be heard by the City Council.

I couldn't have made this journey without you Thank you again for your tireless work and your belief that we really can make Shoreline better together.

I look forward to continuing to work with you,

Making Shoreline Better - Together!

Patty receives "Very Good" rating from
The Municipal League of King County!

  • " The Municipal League of King County released ratings for
candidates on July 23, 2009. Patty was rated "Very Good".

The Municipal League of King County released its nonpartisan evaluations of candidates for the Shoreline City Council races.

The Municipal League ratings are based on four criteria: knowledge, involvement, effectiveness, and character. They assess each candidate's potential to be effective in office and ability to serve the community.

According to the Municipal League, Hale's rating of "Very Good" means she has made numerous outstanding contributions requiring skills related to the office, is a respected leader, is involved in the community and brings knowledge and creativity to issues facing the office.

As an Educator and a long-time Shoreline citizen volunteer, I have learned the value of cooperation, honesty, integrity, open communication, and the importance of completing work in a timely manner. I believe good government should work collaboratively with all involved to create "Win-Win" solutions.

As a Shoreline City Council candidate, I am excited about the tremendous opportunities before us. I look forward to working for you on:

  • Improved Leadership and Communications between Council members, and with Shoreline residents, city staff and other agencies.
  • Healthy Parks and Open-Spaces that are enhanced and protected to enrich our community as vital resources for passive and active recreation.
  • Neighborhood Vitality and Citizen Safety. Great cities are built from strong neighborhoods where citizens feel safe and protected.
  • Robust Economic Climate that provides the financial stability to keep Shoreline thriving while delivering the goods and services residents of all ages need.
  • Environmental Stewardship that provides traditional and nontraditional solutions to reduce waste, protect natural resources, and lessen the environmental impact of urban and commercial development.

As a Shoreline City Council member, I will work with you to ensure the place that we call home remains the "Best Neighborhood" (Seattle Magazine, July 2008) for years to come.

Thank you for your support,
